US sugar futures soared early on Wednesday after the US Federal Reserve Chairman suggested the possibility of more stimulus to a faltering US economy. New York's October raw sugar contract increased 0.33 cent to trade at 30.82 cents per lb, as it touched a 5-month high of 31.33 cents.
New York's September cocoa contract soared $119 or nearly 4 percent to end at $3,170 per tonne. ICE September arabica futures went up 7.50 cents or by 2.9 percent to trade at $2.6535 per lb at 12:09 pm.
