Provincial Minister for Labour, Haji Ehsaan-ud-Din Qureshi has said that provincial government has ensured provision of modern healthcare facilities and free medicines to the poor and resource-less people. The budget for healthcare facilities has been increased four times during the present government's tenure, which has enhanced from rupees 11 billion to Rs 46 billion.
Talking to various delegations at his office, Haji Ehsaan-ud-Din Qureshi said that complete elimination of terrorism and extremism is necessary for the progress and prosperity of the country. He said that unemployment and poverty could be minimised through promotion of quality education to common people. He said that eight Daanish Schools would be opened during the current fiscal year in less developed areas of the province, whereas, the amount of endowment fund has been increased up-to Rs eight billion.
Ehsaan-ud-Din said that by setting up of computer labs in thousands of schools, establishment of centres of excellence, provision of missing facilities in 10,000 schools besides a number of steps have been taken for the promotion of modern education among the children of common men. He further said that this year, all government schools will be given the status of English medium while more than three million children have been given admission in the schools so far as a result of primary enrolment campaign launched by Punjab Government.
