Faisal Karim Kundi, Deputy Speaker, National Assembly has stressed for regular interaction between the political leadership and people of Pakistan and India to build bridges of understanding and friendship between the two nations. He also called for resolution of longstanding issues between the two countries through dialogue.
He stated this while talking to Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Sharat Sabharwal who called on him here Thursday. Kundi said that since both the countries are tied in bonds of history and culture, therefore, Pakistan desires to have cordial relations with her neighbour. He said that joint efforts by both the countries are required for regional peace and progress. He called for regular interaction between the parliamentarians of Pakistan and India especially young MPs for enhancing bilateral co-operation between the two parliaments. Deputy Speaker also expressed his sympathies on yesterday's incident of bomb blasts in Mumbai.
He said that some hidden hands were trying to disrupt the peace and stability in the region. Sharat Sabharwal agreed with the Deputy Speaker and said that his government also wants to have cordial relations with Pakistan. He informed that recent engagement of diplomats of both the countries have set out a comprehensive agenda for future consultations.-PR
