Wateen Telecom Ltd, Pakistan's leading telecommunications company, has now launched its WiMAX services in Mandi Bahauddin in collaboration with Universal Service Fund (USF). Wateen's WiMAX network is the largest in the country and the addition of Mandi Bahauddin increases its WiMAX coverage to 23 cities. Wateen is an active partner with the USF to spread the benefits of the telecom revolution to the marginalized areas of the country.
In line with Wateen's proactive approach at helping develop the country, special emphasis is being placed on educational institutions, ensuring that computer labs are developed in all high-schools and colleges along with broadband connectivity. Community Broadband Centres are also being established in under-served areas proving broadband services to the consumers. Wateen's Wimax network is available in Abbotabad, Jhelum, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahalwalpur, Karachi, Sahiwal, D.I. Khan, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Gujrat, Peshawar, Sucker, Multan, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Okara, Hyderabad, Quetta, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Mandi Bahauddin.-PR
