The Karachi Port handled 59,442 tonnes of cargo including 38,592 tonnes of import cargo, 20,850 tonnes of export cargo and 3,463 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 38,592 tonnes comprised of 28,369 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,152 tonnes of general cargo; 5,676 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,248 tonnes of DAP; 1,357 tonnes of rock phosphate; 1,071 tonnes of chickpeas and 1,395 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 20,850 tonnes comprised of 10,827 tonnes of containerised cargo; 7,103 tonnes of bulk cargo: 792 tonnes of cement; 3,200 tonnes of loose bulk cement; 3,111 tonnes of wheat and 2,920 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Eight ships namely MT Karachi, Pacific Ruby, Sycamore, HS Challenger, Glen Canyon Bridge, YM Asia, Cleantec and Gladiolus carrying three oil tankers, three container ships, bulk cargo ship and general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Four vessels viz Lahore Express, CSL Ride, Abtin-1 and Emirates Indus carrying four container ships are currently at the berths.
One ship namely Manar carrying rock phosphate expected to sail on Friday, while five ships namely Emirates Indus, MSC Anafi, CSL Ride, Abtin-1 and UBC Cyprus with four container ships and cement carrier respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
Four vessels viz APL Chicago, OOCL Dalian, Freja Ocean and Iron Butterfly carrying two container ships, naphtha carrier and project cargo ship respectively are due to arrive on Friday, while four vessels viz Hanjin Rome, Silver Zone, MT Lahore and Spar Orion carrying two container ships, crude oil tanker and yellow peas carrier respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 94,379 tonnes of cargo includes 69,140 tonnes of import cargo, 25,239 tonnes of export cargo and 2,682 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 69,140 tonnes includes 38,686 tonnes of furnace oil; 15,589 tonnes of palm oil and 14,865 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 25,239 tonnes includes 5,190 tonnes of wheat; 1,329 tonnes of cement and 18,720 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Two container ships namely CV MSC Magali and CV Nicoline Maersk sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while three more ships namely CV Dubai Express, MT Olympic Sponsor and MT Chemroad Mega are expected to sail on the same day. A total number of eight vessels CV Dubai Express, CV Nicoline Maersk, CV MSC Diamon, CV MSC Magali, MV Topaz-II, MV Diaman Falcon, MT Chemroad Mega and MT Olympic Sponsor are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, cement, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Seven ships namely Glory, Northern Diplomat-II, Libra Ipanema, Al-Soor-II, Al-Kuwaitiah, Mannon and Theoforos-I carrying containers, diesel oil, palm oil and coal are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of six vessels viz CV Glory, CV Libra Ipanema, CV MSC Natalia, MT Mannon, Al-Soor-II and MV Theoforos-I carrying containers, palm oil, diesel oil and coal are expected to take berths at Containers Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Iron Ore & Coal Berth respectively on Friday. A container ship namely CV Maersk Wisconsin is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Sunday.
