Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Aashiyana Housing Scheme is meant for the poor and the common man and credit goes to Pakistan Muslim League-N for realising the dream of shelter-less people to have their own house.
He was presiding over a meeting to review the pace of progress on Aashiyana Housing Project here on Wednesday. Chairman Punjab Land Development Company and Member Provincial Assembly, Sh. Allauddin, Additional Chief Secretary, Commissioner and District Co-ordination Officer, Lahore as well as officers concerned were present.
Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that transparency in the execution of development projects was the hallmark of Punjab government and Aashiyana Housing Project would also be completed in a transparent manner. He apart from Lahore, work on Aashiyana housing schemes in Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal and Jhelum has also been started and land has been identified for these schemes in 16 other districts of the province. He said that school, hospital, mosque, parks, playgrounds and other facilities would also be provided in these schemes.
