Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary on Wednesday observed that a clear, corruption free and efficient judicial system is a must for rule of law in the country.
Talking to a seven-member delegation of Cabinet Members of Peshawar District Bar headed by its President, Raza Ullah and consisting other office bearers and members who called on him at Supreme Court premises, the CJP appreciated extolling the services rendered by Peshawar Bar for their profession and for Rule of law in society
He observed that Peshawar Bar is an active, experienced, committed, professional and patriotic bar which played a vital role for the achievement of the cause of independence of judiciary, supremacy of Constitution and Rule of law in our country. "Their services and scarifices will always be remembered and will be guiding the new generations to stand by the judiciary in time of need," he added.
The delegation thanked the Chief Justice and appreciated the National Judicial Policy (NJP) which proved fruitful for lawyers as well as litigants and enhanced the public confidence in courts by providing a speedy and expeditious disposal to them. Further, they informed the CJP that due to the NJP, the work load on lawyers has increased and few cases are also disposed of on technical grounds due to time frame set in judicial policy. The Chief Justice assured them to take up the matter on platform of National Judicial Policy Making Committee (NJPMC).-PR
