This has reference to the news item published in your daily "Business Recorder" dated 09-07-2011 captioned "Qadirpur gas output down by 200 mmcfd". Sine the news published in your esteemed newspaper is not based on facts therefore for the interest of public and to reflect the true picture it is clarified as under.
The factual gas sales figure of Qadirpur Gas Field is 490-500 MMSCFD, whereas after the injection of Extended Reach Well in the system, modification in some compressors and functioning of new permeate compressors, the sale gas figure is anticipated to reach 550 MMSCFD by the end of July, 2011.
OGDCL plans to start drilling of remaining 2 Extended Reach Wells in October, 2011 post flood season. The drilling/completion of extended reach wells and integration of current compressor facilities would help to maintain as well as further boost the production from the field.
Your news item published misleading and lack researched information on Qadirpur field's gas production volumes where it mentions that a decrease of 200 MMSCFD of gas supply to SNGPL has occurred due to curtailment of gas supply from Qadirpur field. It is further clarified that SNGPL is not providing 80 MMSCFD gas to M/s Engro Fertiliser via Qadirpur Gas Field.-PR
