The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, as per directions of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, has decided in principle to increase the fixed pays of the Male Mobilises of Population Welfare Department from 4000 rupees to 7000 rupees per month with effect from July 1, 2011. These fixed employees will be paid 7000 rupees per month for which, funds have been allocated.
This was stated in a meeting of Population Welfare Department with Minister Population Welfare Saleem Khan in the chair here on Wednesday. Secretary Population Welfare, Ahmad Hanif Orakzai, Director General Population Welfare, Noor Nawaz Khattak and other concerned authorities attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed in detail various matters related to the devolution of the departments from Centre to the federating units, formulation of new policy for various programs of the department, capacity building of the regional training institutes (RTIs) working under the department, construction of Population Welfare Complex in Peshawar, promotions of the staff and recruitments of new staff etc and a number of decisions were taken.
The meeting was told that after the devolution of the department from the federal government, the salaries of all employees of the department will be paid from the current budget of the provincial government, and from now onward all staff of the department will be considered as provincial government employees.
The meeting was also informed that establishment of a number of Family Welfare Centres are in pipeline in all districts of the province with special focus on the newly established district Torghar in order to provide the services of the department to the people at their doorsteps.
Regarding the construction of Population Welfare Complex in Peshawar, the meeting was told that six kanal piece of land has been identified in Hayatabad by Peshawar Development Authority for the purpose and construction on it will soon be started.
The Minister directed the concerned authorities of the department to chalk out a strategy to improve the capacity of the RTIs and regularise all its affairs. He also directed the concerned quarters to co-ordinate and consult with health and education departments and NGOs of the field before formulating the proposed policy for the department.
