Islamabad being the Federal Capital has always been a centre of attention for local and international investors, but unfortunately security situation has badly hampered business activities, said Ali Raza Saeed Shah, President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) here on Wednesday.
"We want to make Islamabad a secured place to bring Foreign Direct Investment in the country and change the present shabby economic scenario," RCCI President said while talking to Bani Amin Khan, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad during a meeting held at Central Police Office. Vice President RCCI Mian Ateeq, Managing Director Islamabad Stock Exchange Imtiaz Haider, Mian Humayun Pervaiz and Farukh Younas Khan were also present on the accession.
A meeting was held to analyse the current law and order situation of the city and the impact of security issues on business were discussed.
Ali Raza emphasised on establishment of Community Facilitation Centre to resolve citizens' issues in a better way. He also stressed to make police patrols functional again to improve the security measures.
The President praised the efforts of Rescue 1122 to cater emergency situation and said that there is still room for improvement. Besides, he emphasised on the establishment of such other institution to cope with the emergencies in a better way.
IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan affirmed along with President RCCI that the meeting is a prolific step for the betterment of community and said that mutual co-operation of Islamabad Police and business community is essential for ensuring peace and stability.
IGP said that Islamabad Police has already initiated community policing aimed at taking into confidence the people from all walks of life to ensure better law and order situation in the capital.
