Sindh High Court Wednesday directed State Bank of Pakistan authorities to bring on record policy for placing name of financial defaulters on Exit Control List to restrain them from leaving the country. A division bench, headed by Chief Justice Mushir Alam, passed this order on a petition challenging placement of two petitioners' names on ECL by Interior Ministry on the directives of SBP.
On Wednesday, Interior Ministry official submitted comments, stating that petitioners' names were placed on ECL on the recommendation of SBP. SHC division bench ordered: "Issue notice to State Bank of Pakistan to bring on record its policy as to place such persons on ECL. The petitioners also to file amended title, impleading State Bank of Pakistan."
