The Karachi Port handled 91,455 tonnes of cargo including 71,414 tonnes of import cargo, 20,041 tonnes of export cargo and 5,051 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 71,414 tonnes comprised of 21,943 tonnes of containerised cargo; 32 tonnes of general cargo; 8,325 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,274 tonnes of DAP; 5,051 tonnes of yellow peas and 41,114 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 20,041 tonnes comprised of 15,576 tonnes of containerised cargo; 400 tonnes of general cargo; 1,865 tonnes of cement and 2,200 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Five ships namely Lindavia, Wan Hai-603, Hyundai Freedom, APL Cyprine and Freja Ocean carrying four container ships and naphtha carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Four vessels viz Viona, TS Singapore, Caribbean Sea and Jakarta Express carrying four container ships respectively are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Iron Butterfly and Jakarta Express carrying general cargo ship and container ship respectively expected to sail on Thursday, while six ships namely TS Singapore, Viona, Parmis, Caribbean Sea, Ozay-5 and Sea Wave with four container ships, ethanol carrier and cement carrier respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
Three vessels viz Four Island, Borneo Pioneer and Banjo Bridge carrying crude oil tanker, ethanol carrier and container ship respectively are due to arrive on Thursday, while nine vessels viz Emirates Yangtze, Buxcrown, YM America, APL Sokhna, Lieutenant Triesta, Al Sabiyah, Honesty, Falda and Royal Peridot carrying five container ships, high speed diesel oil tanker, soyabean oil carrier, low sulphur and ethylene carrier respectively are due to arrive on Friday.
