The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has finalised all arrangements to hold its 8th Flagship International "My Karachi: Oasis of Harmony Exhibition 2011" from July 22 at Expo Centre, Karachi, which was another sequel to KCCI annual international event.
The Chamber has invited Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul Ebad Khan and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to inaugurate the exhibition but no confirmation has yet been received from both the dignitaries.
The organisers of the exhibition expected huge turnover of general pubic as Ramadan is fast approaching and people are eager to complete their Eid purchasing as soon as possible and get products on discounted rates.
The Chamber has designed 8th "My Karachi: Oasis of Harmony Exhibition 2011" to act as the avenue for interactive business-to-business (B2B) linkages and business to consumer (B2C) relationship.
Exhibition is a showcase platform for domestic and global products and services to small traders, large industries, manufacturers, service providers, multinational companies, financial institutions and social welfare agencies of Pakistan
This year the Chamber has booked 6 halls instead of 4 and two halls are allocated exclusively for students of the universities in the country to display their creative and innovative products free of cost. The Chamber President Mohammad Saeed Shafiq announced to give away Rs 1 million to the student for its best creation.
The purpose of this is to encourage the students to come forward and make efforts to produce or develop new product and to provide them with a platform to display and introduced their creative work among businessmen so that they may adopt them for commercial development of the product.
Chairman KCCI Sub-committee for Industries and Director Lakhani Silk Mill, Arif Lakhani said that the Chamber is taking extra measures to organise the event in a more vivid and stylish fashion with dedicated halls for the international participants, significant brands "Made in Pakistan" and for Women Entrepreneurs.
He said it would be a complete exhibition in all aspects encompassing the interests of corporate sector as well as the consumers while truly representing Pakistan in terms of cultural cross section in a unique urban scenario.
The Chamber started this mega exhibition in 2004 with the initiative of Siraj Kasim Teli, the then President of KCCI, which received acclamation on both National and International forums. In view of its significance and magnitude, Government of Sindh co-hosts this momentous exhibition every year. Core objective of this mega event is to project and promote the true and real picture of Karachi and Pakistan with an emphasis on Karachi as centre of commercial activities as well as hub for financial, economic and industrial activities of Pakistan.
It is focused that Karachi City-the largest metropolis of Pakistan-is recognised and valued as diversified fastest growing city and a gateway for Central Asia and Middle East. It would be a complete exhibition in all aspects encompassing the interests of corporate sector as well as the consumers while truly representing Pakistan in terms of cultural cross section in a unique urban scenario.
The organisers of the exhibition said that Karachi is recognised and valued as diversified fastest growing city and a gateway for Central Asia.
However, continuously its image is being tarnished by way of adverse propaganda made by the Western media, and the state of affairs demand that Karachiities especially the business and industrial community to come forward to combat and rebuild the image of metropolis in particular and Pakistan in general and make this event successful with flying colours.
