It is my privilege to be part of what I think is a very important seminar on Investor Relations being organised by South Asian Federation of Exchanges (SAFE) here in Karachi. Now, more than ever before, we need to promote investor education and build long term relationships between the global financial markets and investors around the world.
In light of continuing economic challenges globally, especially in the developing world, it is time to place good governance and transparency at the center of all our endeavours. It is our responsibility to work towards standardisation of best practices amongst the fast integrating stock exchanges around the world and encourage the stock exchanges to promote full disclosure of information by the companies to further strengthen the investor confidence.
I encourage all stakeholders, including, brokers, asset management companies, management of listed companies, stock exchanges and investors to participate in this very important seminar and help us shape the future of our capital markets and to develop strong and long term relationships amongst the stakeholders.
I am also pleased to see SAFE take lead in addressing and highlighting the challenges faced by the various stakeholders in the financial markets by organising such events and look forward to participate.
