Monsoon currents reaching upper parts of the country and Sindh are likely to cause thundershower/rain at scattered places of upper Punjab, Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Sunday. Chief Meteorologist, Ghulam Rasul on Saturday told APP that scattered rains are expected in upper parts including Rawalpindi and Islamabad tonight which is likely to continue in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa during next 2-3 days with intervals.
However, thundershowers are also expected in some parts of Sindh and Balochistan during the period, he added. According to met office, seasonal low lies over north Balochistan extending north-eastward while a westerly trough is present over northern area.
In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, scattered thundershower/rain is expected in Kohat, Hazara, Peshawar, Malakand and Bannu divisions and widespread dust-thundershower with isolated heavy falls in Sindh during the next 24-48 hours. However, mainly hot and dry weather is likely in Balochistan during the next 24 hours. Scattered rain/thundershower is expected in Kashmir during the next 24 hours while isolated thundershower/rain may occur in Gilgit- Baltistan on Sunday. Some parts of Punjab received rain thundershowers during the last 24 hours.
