The Karachi Port handled 143,228 tonnes of cargo including 90,562 tonnes of import cargo, 52,666 tonnes of export cargo and 5,410 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 90,562 tonnes comprised of 31,569 tonnes of containerised cargo; 906 tonnes of general cargo; 27,080 tonnes of bulk cargo: 7,131 tonnes of DAP; 17,500 tonnes of coal; 2,449 tonnes of yellow peas and 31,007 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 52,666 tonnes comprised of 44,782 tonnes of containerised cargo; 33 tonnes of general cargo; 3,526 tonnes of bulk cargo and 4,325 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Three ships namely Borneo Pioneer, Alliance St. Louis and APL Zircon carrying ethanol ship, car carrier and container ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Four vessels viz APL Zircon, Hyundai Confidence, Conti Brisbane and King Honour carrying three container ships and general cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths. Four ships namely Conti Brisbane, MOL Success, APL Sokhna and Spar Orion carrying three container ships and yellow peas carrier respectively expected to sail on Tuesday, while four ships namely Al Sabiyah, Ocean Friend, Valor SW and Hyundai Confidence with high speed diesel oil tanker, coal carrier, DAP ship and container ship respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.
Three vessels viz Golden Orchid, MT Lahore and Labro with tallow carrier, crude oil tanker and coal carrier respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday, while eight vessels viz DL Diamond, Al-Mirqab, Hansa Century, Salis, Cap Graham, Cosco Kawasaki, President Jackson and El Mar Victoria carrying ethanol ship, six container ship and general cargo ship respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours on Tuesday stood at 115,271 tonnes, comprising 91,104 tonnes of import cargo and 24,167 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,834 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim.
The total import cargo of 91,104 tonnes includes 57,824 tonnes of furnace oil; 4,900 tonnes of edible oil; 12,298 tonnes of chemicals and 16,082 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 24,167 tonnes includes 9,071 tonnes of cement and 15,096 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Two ships namely CV MSC Sena and MT DL Aster sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships namely Hammonia Bavaria and MT Olympic Sponsor are expected to sail on the same day. A total number of seven vessels CV MSC Sena, Hammonia Bavaria, MV Wales-II, MV Nelson, Isabel Knutsen, MT Olympic Sponsor and MT DL Aster are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, chemicals, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Nine ships namely Sea Lion, Th Symphony, MT Karachi, Mako, Sunrise Wisteria, CMA CGM Mozart, Margurite Rickmers, Al Mutanabbi and Anggraina carrying furnace oil, crude oil, chemicals, containers chemicals and edible oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of five vessels viz CV CMA CGM Mozart, Margurite Rickmers, Al Mutanabbi, MT Karachi and MT Anggraini carrying containers, furnace oil and edible oil are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
