The Karachi Port handled 107,228 tonnes of cargo including 65,723 tonnes of import cargo, 41,505 tonnes of export cargo and 3,499 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 65,723 tonnes comprised of 23,429 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,871 tonnes of general cargo; 19,623 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,123 tonnes of DAP; 16,500 tonnes of coal and 17,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 41,505 tonnes comprised of 20,110 tonnes of containerised cargo; 651 tonnes of general cargo; 4,994 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,190 tonnes of cement; 3,804 tonnes of talcum powder cement and 15,750 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Three ships namely Hyundai Confidence, Ocean Friend and Valor SW carrying container ship, coal carrier and DAP ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Seven vessels viz Cap Graham, Hansa Century, President Jackson, Seychelles Predule, Bow Vent, Agonistis and Islamabad carrying three container ships, two oil tankers, bulk cargo ship and under repair respectively are currently at the berths.
Six ships namely Pacific Sapphire, Honesty, Fu Sheng Hai, Marcampania, Cap Graham and King Honour with naphtha carrier, two oil tankers, two container ships and general cargo ship respectively are expected to sail on Thursday, while four ships namely President Jackson, Cosco Kawasaki, Free Hero and Agonistis with two container ships, talcum powder carrier and coal carrier respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
Ten vessels viz Strilen, Emirates Marina, MSC Ayala, YM Fuzhou, Kota Azam, Salis, OEL Trust, APL Guangzhou, Hanjin Beijiang and MT Quetta with chemicals carrier, eight container ships and crude oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 108,995 tonnes, comprising 84,679 tonnes of import cargo and 24,316 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,525 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 84,679 tonnes includes 38,198 tonnes of crude oil; 10,550 tonnes of edible oil; 14,256 tonnes of chemicals and 21,675 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 24,316 tonnes includes 3,066 tonnes of cement and 21,250 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A chemicals carrier MV Sunrise Wister sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while five ships namely CV Margurite Rickmers, MT Mako, CV OOCL San Francisco, Anggraini and Paco are expected to sail on the same day. A total number of ten vessels CV CMA CGM Mozart, CV OOCL San Francisco, CV Margurite Rickmers, Paco, MV Wales-II, Alaska-II, MV Golden Ambrosia, MT Sunrise Wisteria, MT Mako and MT Anggraini are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, chemicals, crude oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Ten ships namely Sea Lion, Th Symphony, MT Karachi, Kassos, Bunga Angelica, Al-Soor-II, Alexi-I, Gas Sulawesi, Nysted Maersk and Glory carrying furnace oil, edible oil, diesel oil, cement, chemicals and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz CV Nysted Maersk, CV Glory, MV Gas Sulawesi and MT Karachi carrying containers, cement and chemicals are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.
