Islamabad Police is a dedicated and professional force, which has initiated various programmes for promoting police-public relations, besides wining public support by effective policing, said Bani Amin Khan, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad here on Saturday.
The efforts of Islamabad Police for introducing soft policing have started yielding fruits with a decline in crime ratio, the IGP said this while addressing the concluding ceremony of second Summer Camp School here at Police Line Headquarters.
Islamabad Police had arranged two summer camps for the children of age 6 years to 15 years at Police Lines Headquarters H-11, Islamabad. The children of above age were given admission in basic computer learning, swimming, horse riding, martial art and other courses. IGP Bani Amin Khan attended the ceremony as chief guest while DIG (HQs) Ahmed Mukaram, SSP Headquarters Zubair Hashmi, SP (Traffic) Mir Vais Niaz, officials and parents of children were also present on the occasion.
Bani Amin Khan appreciated the participants for taking keen interest in the programmes, saying that children are our next generation and good image of the police department in their minds is crucial for strengthening friendly bonds.
The friendly attitude of Islamabad police was also reflected during training in the Summer School, he said, adding that aim of holding such camp in police vicinity is to bridge the police-public gap and Islamabad Police are striving to strengthen the police community relations as well as to acquaint the children with the police working.
The IGP said that Islamabad Police's role model for other law enforcement agencies and those children participated in the camp would remember it for ever. SSP Headquarters Zubair Ahmed Hashmi said that they had got very good response in the summer camps and such practice should remain continue in future. The SSP said that IGP Islamabad has endeavoured a lot for the success of the programme and thanked for his support in organising the events.
Parents of the children thanked Islamabad police for arranging the healthy activity and hoped that further liaison of police with public would enhance in future. Later, children presented various songs and also participated in the magic show. Special prizes were also given to children for showing brilliant performance.
