As many as 25 'Ramazan Daster Khuwans' would be set up in Rawalpindi to provide Iftari to the poor and needy people. Rawalpindi division would have total 43 daster khuwans; 25 in Rawalpindi district, eight in Attock district, five in Chakwal district and five 'daster khawans' would be arranged in Jhelum districts as well.
All the arrangements in this regard would be managed with the financial support of philanthropists. This was stated by Chairman Sasta Bazaar Committee/ Member National Assembly, Bilal Yasin and Chief Organiser Sasti Roti Authority, Haji Muhammad Nawaz in a meeting held here at the Commissioner's office.
Bilal Yasin said that joint efforts should be made by all stakeholders to make 'Sasta Ramazan Bazaars' successful so that relief could be provided to the citizens in the holy month of Ramazan. He said that banners would be displayed on important roads and highways to highlight the steps being taken by Punjab Government for the relief of general masses. Commissioner Rawalpindi, Zahid Saeed briefed the meeting that green channel stalls would be set up in each Ramzan Bazaar to provide fresh vegetables. Other edibles including ghee, pulses, baisan and dates would be supplied to the consumers on controlled rates.
The meeting was also attended by RPO Captain Muhammad Zubair, DCO Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Attock, Jhelum, Saqib Zafar, Tariq Waqar Bakhshi, Shakeel Ahmed and Mirza Mehmood ul Hasan respectively. MNA Malik Ibrar, MPA Malik Iftikhar Ahmed, DDO Food Muhammad Hussain Khokhar, officials of market committee also attended the meeting.
