'Culture department plans to hold international, inter-provincial exhibitions'
Provincial Secretary Culture Department Abdul Aziz Uqaili has said that his department was planning to hold Inter-Provincial and International culture exhibitions, shows and other events to educate young generation and encourage national as well as international harmony for the peace and development in the world.
This he stated while talking with the media men after inaugurating three-days pictorial exhibition under the title of "Russian the space faring Nation" which was jointly organised by Russian Centre for Science and Culture Karachi and Sindh Culture Department at Zaffar Kazmi Art and Craft Gallery, Sindh Museum Hyderabad on Monday.
He said that he has directed the officers of his department to contact with the cultural organisations of all provinces and diplomats and Cultural wings of other countries at Karachi and Islamabad for getting their co-operation in holding such events at Karachi and Hyderabad. He said that this pictorial exhibition has been arranged to mark 50th anniversary of the achievements, which made by Russian scientists for their 1st access to space in 1961. He said that this event was also important because world is celebrating 2011 as the year of space and we cannot disassociate ourselves from the world community. We have to inform and aware especially to our young generations and common men about the developments of the world.
Responding to a question about the importance of the exhibition, Uqaili said that today when many nations were passing from the confrontation, such events of cultural exchange could bring the nations more closure in positive sense. Besides, sharing of education and experience of nations has always paved the way of prosperity, peace and development.
He said that we should promote positive use of scientific development and added that it can defuse its negative elements. He said that this little effort of Provincial Culture department can create a way, motivate and energise the other national as well as international organisations for providing platform for positive use of scientific development in the interest of human being and added that to preach for love affection and peace was also the message of our great saints and Sufis of Sindh.
Talking on the occasion Mr Sergey Quzntso, Director Russian Centre of Science and Culture Karachi, said that in 1961 Russian scientists had made their access to space successfully and we are celebrating 50th anniversary of this achievement and 2011 was also being celebrated by world nations as space year, he added.
He further said that though it was three-day exhibition but was extendable in case people of the area showed their interest. He said that this exhibition was also depicting the efforts and achievements of the scientists belonging to other nations as well. He said that his management was planning to arrange another exhibitions or shows under the title of "Russia Today" to depict the socio-economic, socio-cultural life and scientific development of his country. He said that the purpose of this event was to educate the young generations about the scientific journey towards the space and its benefits to the nations.
