The Apex committee of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in its 28th meeting held under the chairmanship of Governor Barrister, Masood Kausar has expressed the determination to ensure complete sustenance in the ongoing steps for restoration of unhindered normalcy in civic life; rehabilitate the damaged infrastructure and further accelerate the pace of development both in the province and FATA.
Chief Minister, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Corps Commander Peshawar, Lieutenant General Asif Yasin Malik, IGFC, Major General Nadir Zeb, Chief Secretary, Ghulam Dastagir Akhtar, IGP, Fayyaz Ahmad Khan Toru, Additional Chief Secretary FATA, Fazal Karim Khattak and the Provincial Additional Chief Secretary, Attaullah Khan attended the meeting.
"We fully appreciate the support and co-operation of the people of the Malakand Division of the province as well as FATA in particular in making all this possible and they would definitely benefit because of maintenance of peace and speedy normalisation of daily life in their respective areas," they said. The state of preparedness of the government departments in facing expected flood threats also came under discussion and the director generals of the provincial and the FATA Disaster Management authorities briefed the participants about the salient features of their action plans to meet any eventuality.
The Governor said that the state of the successes of the government which one sees in the province and now in FATA too, towards normalisation of life have no doubt been made possible at a heavy cost and they fully acknowledge and recognise the great sacrifices, which security forces and the people at large have been offering for ensuring better future for the motherland.
Despite many hardships, spread over years, the Governor said, the encouraging aspect of the scenario is that the implementation on government sponsored projects has also continued especially in FATA and keeping in view this very fact that the government has allocated Rs 15 billions as budgetary allocations for FATA during the current financial year.
The pace of progress for maintenance of writ of the government, he remarked, will also prove further helpful in ensuring judicious utilisation of resources and rapid socio-economic development process in accordance with the aspirations of the people. The efficient role of the nation building departments, the Governor pointed out, is equally important side by side to the efficient administrative arrangements to achieve the desired goal of ensuring stable and secured civic life in the society and there exists every hope that this aspect would continue to get due importance in future as well.
