The Karachi Port handled 146,503 tonnes of cargo including 113,610 tonnes of import cargo, 32,893 tonnes of export cargo and 4,174 loaded & empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 113,610 tonnes comprised of 33,657 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,917 tonnes of general cargo; 15,969 tonnes of bulk cargo and 62,067 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 32,893 tonnes comprised of 30,138 tonnes of containerised cargo; 955 tonnes of bulk cargo and 1,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Thirteen ships namely Emirates Marina, MSC Ayala, Kota Azam, Salis, Hanjin Beijiang, APL Guangzhou, Pardis, OEL Trust, Golden Orchid, MT Lahore, Silva, Labro and Billesborg carrying eight container ships, three oil tankers, coal carrier and general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Fourteen vessels viz Salis, CS Discovery, Pardis, APL Brisbane, Bux Melody, OEL Trust, MOL Bravery, MT Quetta, Strilen, Jin Yuan Men, Billesborg, Liberty Pride, Yong Jin and Star Island H carrying seven container ships, two oil tankers, two genral cargo ships, car carrier, coal ship and rock phosphate carrier respectively are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Suleyman Pasli and MT quetta with DAP carrier and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Monday, while another ship namely Bow Vent with ethanol is expected to sail on Tuesday. Four vessels viz Amagi Galaxy, Hanjin Durban, Hyundai Highness and Elmar Victoria with oil tanker, two container ships and general cargo ship respectively are due to arrive on Monday, while seven vessels viz atlantic Frontier, Dongbu Promy-1, Greenwich Bridge, YM Europe, Hansa Constitution, Kota Singa and Hansa Danica carrying two oil tankers, four container ships and general cargo ship respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 51,563 tonnes, comprising 48,163 tonnes of import cargo and 3,400 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 476 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 48,163 tonnes includes 25,184 tonnes of furnace oil; 141 tonnes of diesel oil; 16,720 tonnes of edible oil; 1,426 tonnes of chemicals and 4,692 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 3,400 tonnes of containerised cargo. A container ship namely CV ACX Hibiscus sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ships namely MT Bunga Angelica with ethylene is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels CV ACX Hibiscus, MV Wales-II, Alaska-II, Hai Yu, Stolt Zulu, Kassos, MT Bunga Angelica and MT Anggraini are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, urea, chemicals, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely Sea Lion, Th Symphony, Alexi-I, Tycon-II and Maersk Idaho carrying furnace oil, cement and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A container vessel viz CV Maersk Idaho is expected to take berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Monday.
