Gold prices on Wednesday posted a huge increase of Rs 1,029 to hit a new high of Rs 45, 857 per 10 grams following global market's surge by $41 an ounce, traders said. Gold was available for Rs 44, 828 per 10 grams, which moved upward after the global market surge to Rs 45, 857 to a new historic high. "Gold per 10 grams first time crossed Rs 45, 000 of mark," traders said.
Gold prices reached a new stage of $1668 an ounce up from 1627 with $41 increase in international market, they said. About the local market tumultuous, they said although gold prices had hit new highest mark, investors, due to the Ramadan, were still away from business.
