Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), on Wednesday asked the political parties to file with the commission their statement of accounts for financial year 2010-2011 before August 29. According to Article 13 of the Political Parties Order 2002, every political party has to submit a statement of accounts of the party to the Election Commission within 60 days from the close of each financial year.
A consolidated statement of accounts of the party, duly audited by a chartered accountant, has to be submitted with details of annual income and expenses, sources of funds and assets and liabilities. The statement shall be delivered to the ECP secretary in Islamabad through an office-bearer of the party, duly authorised by the party leader.
