Excise duty contract to be auctioned on August 19

The auction for collection of excise duty on sand excavation for commercial purposes would be held on August 19 at the office of additional commissioner (consolidation) Multan. The auction would be held under excise duty on minerals Punjab rules 1971 for Multan zone, which comprises districts including Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Vehari, Layyah, Muzaffargarh and other areas.
This excise duty is collected from those who dug out sand from rivers, riverine areas or other areas to sell it to builders or other people for construction purposes. The applicants have been advised to deposit Rs 500,000 surety with the office before participation in the bidding process.
