Peace in Karachi: MQM to support every sincere effort of government, says Altaf

Chief Altaf Hussain has said that the MQM will support every sincere government efforts for establishing a permanent and durable peace in Karachi. Speaking at a joint meeting of the Co-ordination Committee in London and Pakistan Altaf Hussain said that the MQM always gives preference to the interest of the country above anything else and it will continue to work for the collective interest of the country and the nation.
Altaf Hussain expressed his concern over power outages, load-shedding, unavailability of natural gas and other problems being faced by the people during the holy month of Ramadan. He said that power outages even at the times of Sehr and Iftar are causing immense problems to the people.
Altaf Hussain said that it is the foremost responsibility of the government to find solutions to the problems being faced by the public. The government must take effective measures to ameliorate the problems such as unemployment, inflation, load-shedding, and unavailability of gas besides working for restoring peace and stability in Karachi and other parts of the country.
He pointed out unemployment; inflation and scarcity of basic necessities are also important factors contributing in the deteriorating law-and-order situation in the country. Altaf Hussain said that the MQM wants peace in Karachi and in the country as well. He also wants uninterrupted economic and financial activities in the city so that people could be able to live peacefully.
He demanded of the government to compensate the people affected by the attacks of terrorists. Altaf Hussain directed the Co-ordination Committee to make contacts with all the other religious and political parties and scholars of various schools of thought towards bringing peace in Karachi. He also asked them to help the people, affected by terrorism, in every possible manner.
Altaf Hussain also directed the Co-ordination Committee to present their points of view in TV talk shows in a polite manner. He asked them to use cogent arguments and in support of their viewpoints and not to be provoked into using acrimonious language.
