The Lahore High Court issued notices to respondents in a petition filed by former Secretary, Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), against the Board Chairman, Asif Hashmi for misusing funds. The petitioner alleged that the chairman ETPB was misusing funds and making illegal recruitment in the board. He said that Hashmi leased and sold out different plots to his favourite people at cheaper rates.
He was also about to recruit hundreds of people from Shahdara, which is his constituency to give favour to his supporters. He said due to the actions of the respondent chairman of the Borad, the board is on the verge of destruction. He said being secretary of the board he refused to fulfil his ulterior motives and hence got him transferred and inducted his favourite person. He therefore prayed the court to set aside his transfer orders. The court after hearing his counsel at length issued notices to the respondents.
