Former Law Minister Dr Babar Awan on Friday said that new provinces will be made in accordance with the constitution as a mechanism to his effect is already in place. He criticised Sharif brothers for terming Saraiki as language, adding Saraiki is a culture and their announcement has hurt the sentiments of the masses.
He urged Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to requisite the session of Provincial Assembly, as Pakistan People's party (PPP) will not allow them to use delay tactics. Babar Awan said PPP has made provinces in the past and will make new provinces in future too. He said PPP did not believe in centralisation, as it will not strengthen the democracy in the country. Babar Awan said the government has empowered the provinces, as the provinces received Rs 400 billion under the 18th amendment. He recalled President Asif Ali Zardari has surrendered his power to the parliament with an aim to strengthen the parliament and democracy as well.
