The Chartered Financial Analyst Institute (CFAI) has awarded 10 scholarships to SECP for capacity building of its employees and to enable them to perform their role of regulating capital markets more efficiently. According to a press release issued on Friday, it is part of the ongoing mutual co-operation between CFAI and SECP.
In addition to providing a conducive environment for professional development and growth, the SECP is keen to train its staff and increase the standard of professionalism through continued education like participation in the CFAI programme. The SECP has always encouraged its employees to participate in the CFA programme through various means including offering fast-track promotion to junior level employees at successful completion of all three levels of CFA exams.
The CFAI played a significant role in setting up of the Institute of Capital Markets (ICM) and has been in the forefront to assist the ICM in its various endeavours towards development of certification programmes, courses, ethical codes and standards for different market participants. The SECP intends to join hands with CFAI, Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance, the stock exchanges and other capital market institutions to raise the governance standards and practices of the corporate sector.-PR
