The Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Asif Ali Memon has said that extensive monitoring of the markets were being made by the Revenue officers having magisterial power and so far 118 shopkeepers/venders have been punished with total fine of Rs 47,050/- for charging high prices from the consumers at different markets in the district on August 4, 2011.
Giving the details of action taken by Revenue officers, Asif Ali Memon said that Assistant Commissioner Hyderabad City booked 6 persons and recovered total fine of Rs 6,300/- on account of charging high prices and not displaying the price lists at prominent place at their shops.
Similarly Mukhtiarkar Hyderabad City challaned 12 shopkeepers and recovered fine of Rs 5,350/-, Assistant Commissioner Latifabad booked 10 persons, recovered fine of Rs 6,400/-, Assistant Commissioner Qasimabad booked 13 persons and recovered fine of Rs 3,700/-, Mukhtiarkar Qasimabad booked 4 persons and recovered Rs 1,200/-. Assistant Commissioner Taluka Hyderabad booked 20 persons and recovered 7,500/-, Likewise Mukhtiarkar Tando Allahyar challaned 2 persons and recovered fine of Rs 400/-, Assistant Commissioner Chamber booked 2 persons and recovered Rs 500/-, Assistant Commissioner Bulri Shah Karim booked 5 persons and recovered Rs 500/-, Mukhtiarkar Bulri Shah Karim challaned 11 persons and recovered fine of Rs 1,100/-, Assistant Commissioner Tando Ghulam Hyder booked 7 persons and recovered Rs 3,200/-, Mukhtiarkar Tando Ghulam Hyder booked 2 persons and recovered Rs 500/-, Mukhtiarkar Matiari booked 21 persons and recovered Rs 8,900/-, Assistant Commissioner Hala booked 2 persons and recovered Rs 1,000/-, Mukhtiarkar Hala booked one person and recovered Rs 500/-. Besides, 11 other shopkeepers were warned by different magistrates to refrain from charging high prices from the consumers.
