Modest activity observed on grain market

Modest activity was seen on the wholesale grain market on Monday as buyers did not take interest in fresh purchasing, dealers said. On the rice side Irri-6 Sindh low type was inert at Rs 3725 while good type was lower by Rs 50 to Rs 3750 due to falling demand mainly because of decline in purchasing power, other items were unchanged during the day, they said.
On the seeds side, cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh low type was unchanged at Rs 1100 while better type gained Rs 50 to Rs 1200, castorseed Lasbela inferior type did not move any side at Rs 2400 while the best type shed Rs 50 to Rs 2450 and castorseed Sindh followed the same pattern as low type was inert at Rs 2300 while the good type fell by Rs 50 to Rs 2350, they said. Prices on the grams and cereals sectors did not show any change during the session, they said.
