The Karachi Port handled 116,809 tonnes of cargo including 88,043 tonnes of import cargo, 28,766 tonnes of export cargo and 3,256 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 88,043 tonnes comprised of 11,890 tonnes of containerised cargo; 17,183 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,233 tonnes of sulphur; 13,000 tonnes of coal; 1,950 tonnes of rock phosphate and 58,970 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 28,766 tonnes comprised of 27,432 tonnes of containerised cargo; 250 tonnes of general cargo and 1,084 tonnes of cement. Six ships namely Karadeniz Powership, APL Ruby, OOCL Charleston, APL Sharjah, Praia and MT Karachi carrying general cargo ship, four container ships and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz Vinalines Sky, Seafarer, Valdivia, Lindavia, Praia and MT Lahore carrying two bulk cargo ships, three container ships and oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths. Two ships namely Positano and Seafarer with container ship and bulk cargo ship respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday, while four ships namely Northern Valence, Valdivia, Lindavia and MT Lahore with three container ships and crude oil tanker are expected to sail on Wednesday.
Four vessels viz Fair Express, APL Japan, Prem Apama and Jin Hyang carrying mogas, container ship, coal carrier and steel carrier respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while eight vessels viz YM Uranus, Eships Maya, Jinga Saker, Lt Genova, Ital Onore,Sima Singapore, Cap George and Angel No 1 carrying lube oil tanker, jet oil tanker, lube base oil tanker, four container ships and chemicals ship respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 69,488 tonnes, comprising 50,268 tonnes of import cargo and 9,220 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 402 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 50,268 tonnes includes 42,402 tonnes of furnace oil; 3,803 tonnes of urea and 4,063 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 9,220 tonnes includes 1,583 tonnes of corn; 4,866 tonnes of cement and 2,771 tonnes of containerised cargo. A container vessel viz CV ACX Lily sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while another ships namely MT Fair Spirit is expected to sail on the same day later.
A total number of six vessels CV ACX Lily, MV Alexi-I, MV Alaska-II, MV Hai Yu, MV New Sun and MT Fair Spirit are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, urea, corn and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely Tycoon-II, Four Bay, Olympic Spirit, Pearls of Jubal Ali, Sealand Michigan and Hanjin Portland carrying cement, furnace oil, canola seeds and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz CV Sealand Michigan, CV Hanjin Portland, MV Pearls of Jubal Ali and MT Four Bay carrying containers, canola seeds and furnace oil are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Grain & Fertiliser Terminal (FAP) and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
