DIG East Muhammad Akram Naeem Bharooka has suspended all the staff of Soldier Bazaar police station except its station officer here on Thursday on the complains of area peoples. The DIG East has ordered to shift all the policemen except SHO Ghulam Nabi from the station. When contacted Azizullah, PRO of DIG East said the DIG office has received many complaints against the staffers of Solider Bazaar police station that they were patronising criminals and drug peddlers.
Reacting on the complaints, the DIG office has initiated investigation to ascertain the veracity of the information. He said the DIG office after thorough investigation found that the police officers of the said police station involved in patronising the criminal elements.
He said the police officers, who were received warnings from the DIG office before their suspension, had not taken the same seriously. Therefore, the office has directed to the authority concerned to suspend whole staff of the said police station except its SHO, as he took charge two days ago. He said the new police officers have been sent to the police station.
