The Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has recruited a total 588 management and non-management related staff since January 2007, out of which 456 are officers. According to official documents made available to the Business Recorder the company is operating in the oil and gas sector of the country with total employees of 2,747 out of which 1,009 is management staff.
According to documents during the period the company has appointed only 132 non-management staff. PPL appointed 166 officers from Punjab, 229 from Sindh, 34 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), 26 from Balochistan and one from Azad Kashmir. Out of 132 non-management staff it appointed for last four years 25 workers belonging to Punjab, 40 from Sindh, 3 from KPK, 62 from Balochistan and two from Azad Kashmir.
From Punjab it recruited a total 191 persons including 166 officers and 25 workers, from Sindh it recruited a total 269 persons including 229 officers and 40 workers, from KPK a total 37 persons were appointed including 34 officers and 3 workers, from Balochistan a total 88 persons were employed including 26 officers and 62 workers and from Azad Kashmir a total of three persons were hired one officer and two workers.
During last four years appointment share of Punjab was 32 percent, Sindh 46 percent, KPK 6 percent, Balochistan 15 percent and Azad Kashmir share was one percent. PPL during the period also inducted 196 trainees in different categories, out of which 88 were trainee engineers, 41 Geological and Geophysical (G&G) engineers, 39 management trainees and 28 trainee technicians.
Out of 88 trainees engineers 39 were inducted from Punjab, 32 from Sindh, six from KPK and 11 from Balochistan. Out of 41 Geological and Geophysical trainees 24 from Punjab, nine from Sindh, eight from KPK, while no one from Balochistan was inducted. Out of 39 management trainees 4 belong to Punjab, 26 Sindh, three KPK and six Balochistan, while all the 28 trainee technicians belong to Balochistan. Over the period PPL also reinstated 60 persons all belonging to Balochistan, out of which seven in officer cadre while remaining 53 were non-management staff.
