Inviting the generals at this stage, will amount to sounding a death knell for the nation. We have seen enough of military rule and its most disastrous consequences. The solution lies in the civilian society coming out in full force in support of the judiciary and punishing the people responsible, no matter, how high and the mighty the office. If that leads to the fall of this most corrupt regime, then so be it - good riddance. This is the first step.
The second step for the improvement of the country at full speed lies in the appointment perhaps of 5,000 judges of integrity, with the requisite paraphernalia, such as registrar, typist and steno, so that decisions are arrived at within a maximum of 10 days. This is required even if courts and judges have to sit in temporary tents.
We can't afford a long time, such as the current 20 years plus for decisions in courts. One recent land dispute was decided after 42 years. Luckily, the person was alive but was 70 plus at the time, in whose favour the said decision was announced. Such a timeframe of 20 years plus for justice is highly questionable. Only, if we have a system that punishes the criminals for their crimes promptly, particularly the high-ups, the lot of the country can improve.
The superior judiciary is currently doing an excellent job and I respectfully and most humbly suggest that no matter how high and mighty the office, the superior judiciary should set examples of persons or officials, who are not obeying and disobeying the orders of the superior courts. This should happen for the establishment of the rule of law and will go a long way in strengthening democracy as well as the country, and the lot of the common man.
