The UN agency for Afghan refugees 'Voluntary Repatriation Centres (VRCs) in Peshawar and Quetta will remain closed on Sunday in connection with observance of Pakistan Independence Day. The agency has informed that UNHCR Voluntary Repatriation Centres (VRCs) in Peshawar and Quetta will be closed on Sunday, August 14, 2011, for all registered Afghans in Peshawar and Quetta in eve of 65th Independence Day.
The operational activities will resume on very next day on August 15 (Monday) at Chamkani and Baleli VRCs. The registered Afghans in Pakistan have been asked that they should contact UNHCR via telephone contact. The Hotline phone numbers include Islamabad Helpline: 0300-501-8698, Peshawar Helpline: 0300-858-5600,Quetta Helpline: 0333-781-9601.
During the month of Ramazan, the VRCs will operate the amended following working hours, as Chamkani VRC in Peshawar: Sunday to Wednesday: 08:00 am to 15:00pm; Thursday 08:00 am to 13:00 pm; Friday and Saturday will be closed. Similarly, Baleli VRC in Balochistan: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday: Open 08:00 am to 14:00 pm and Sunday: Open 08:00 am to 12:00 pm. Thursday and Friday will be closed.
