As day was approaching to mark the 64th Independence Day of the Pakistan, the preparations in this regard are in full swing in the provincial capital. With the shine on the faces of young and old, all is set in Quetta to mark the day of Pakistan in a befitting manner on August 14.
Shops and petty tradesmen on Moti Raam Road, Gordat Singh Road are selling a range of Independence Day products such as flags, stickers, buntings and badges. The most enthusiastic are children who are busy collecting stickers, badges. Some of them are also seen decorating their bicycles and school bags with special stickers inscribed with messages of Independence Day and posters of the heroes of the Pakistan's movement.
Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani has directed the Balochistan lawmakers to celebrate the Independence Day at their divisional headquarters and constituencies. He also urged them highlight the importance of the day and bring the people under one flag. Government departments including Police, FC, Education, Sports and various public and private organisations, schools have planned to arrange seminars, conferences, exhibitions, tableaus, rallies, shows, and walks to celebrate the day with national spirit of gaiety.
On the rooftops of the official buildings of the city, one sees a sudden burst of green and white, the Pakistani flag color. "Pakistan despite all odds, would prosper and thrive, they renewed the hope adding day of Independence revives the pledge which our ancestors made while struggling for a separate home land for Muslims of the sub continent.
