The former Secretary General of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Malik Muhammad Hussain died of protracted illness. Being Secretary General of PFF from 1968 to 1975, late Malik Muhammad Hussain rendered valuable services for the uplift of football during his lifetime. He joined the Pakistan Army in 1952 and retired from army service in 1977. He also served as Deputy Director Pakistan Sports Board from 1977 to 1980. He has left behind five sons and one daughter.
President PFF Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat in his condolence message said: "I was deeply grieved on the death of Malik Muhammad Hussain. PFF will remember his contribution for the development of football in Pakistan." He further said that Good men may die, but death cannot kill their names. The loss to the football is irreparable, and it will be very difficult to fill the vacuum created by the passing away of such a great soccer lover of Pakistan at this moment, he added. Secretary General PFF, Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi said: "I am shocked to learn of the death of Major Malik Muhammad Hussain (Retd). He was one of the greatest football lover and administrator produced by Pakistan.
