Like elsewhere, a colourful flag hoisting ceremony was held here on Sunday to celebrate the 65th Pakistan Independence Day in a most befitting manner.
The flag hoisting ceremony was held at Chakdara attended by DCO Aslam Mehmood, former vice District Nazim Zahir Shah, civil and military officers, lawyers, judges and elites of the city. Balloons were also released in air. A smartly turned out contingent of Dir police presented a salute to the national flag and national anthem was played.
Speaking on the occasion, the DCO said that Pakistan came into being on August 14, 1947 after heroic struggle of our forefathers under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
