The recently launched Margalla Tourist Train is all set to mesmerise the fun lovers of federal capital during the days of Eid-ul-Fitr. The train, which is aimed at promoting tourist and economic activities in the federal capital, will become functional by the ending week of Ramadan for carrying visitors to popular recreational spots in a drive.
Talking to APP, an official of Capital Development Authority said the tourist train was launched before Ramadan with the boarding of media persons and dignitaries on its first round to the landmarks of Islamabad in order to formally inaugurate the service. The authority has planned to continue its service at Eid-ul-Fitr to attract maximum tourist attraction.
The train had cost 36 million rupees; it will run once a day and complete its route in two and a half-hours. It will run in close co-ordination with the traffic police and entertainment programmes would also be presented at different places of its route.
