The commodities wholesale market behaved gently except in a couple of cases some odds were seen that due to supply reason during the week ended on August 13, 2011.
The trading on Monday in commodity wholesale markets showed infirm going, Irri Sindh 6 low type was quoted at Rs 3725, while better type was lower by Rs 50 to Rs 3750, cottonseed cakes with bag in Sindh stayed put at Rs 1100, while the other type surged to Rs 1200, castorseed Lasbela inferior type was put at Rs 2400, while the better type lost Rs 50 to Rs 2450, castorseed Sindh was unchanged at Rs 2300, while the better quality lost Rs 50 to Rs 2350.
On Jodia Bazaar (per kg) chemical items caustic soda flakes Saudi rose by Rs 23 to Rs 75, N.J. Taiwan lost Rs 5 to Rs 235 formic acid Pak shed Re 1 to Rs 101, formic acid from Germany rose by Rs 6 to Rs 116 and Oxalic acid China turned higher by Rs 13 to Rs 93.
On Tuesday wheat old and new with bardana conceded Rs 15 to Rs 2585 and 2600, Irri 6 Sindh low type lost Rs 50 to Rs 3675, while better type yielded Rs 25 to Rs 3725, and cottonseed cakes with bag in Sindh rose by Rs 50 to Rs 1150 and Rs 1250.
On Wednesday wheat old and new with bardana rose by Rs 15 to Rs 2600 and Rs 2615, Irri 6 Sindh low type stayed put at Rs 3675, while the other type rose by Rs 25 to Rs 3750, guwar Sindh and Punjab conceded on supply being swift Rs 200 to Rs 6500 and Rs 6600, cottonseed cakes with bag in Sindh low type gained Rs 30 to Rs 1150 and the other type was put at Rs 1200, castorseed Lasbela was quoted at Rs 2400, castorseed Sindh registered at Rs 2250, rapeseed cakes shed Rs 10 to Rs 800 and Rs 810.
On Jodia Bazaar China dyes (per pound) Rohdamine B moved down by Rs 15 to Rs 260, acid 216 rose by Rs 20 to Rs 130, Orange II 201 gained Rs 5 to Rs 115 and acid scarlet 3R 115 rose by Rs 20 to Rs 150. Pakistan dyes chirasamine G cone gained Rs 15 to Rs 155, bordeux B cone rose by Rs 5 to Rs 145 and Daizo black BH cone turned higher by Rs 5 to Rs 145.
On Thursday normal changes were marked on the commodity wholesale markets, guwar Sindh and Punjab sustained fresh loss was Rs 100 to Rs 6400 and Rs 6500, cottonseed cakes with bag in Sindh low type stayed put at Rs 1180, while the other type was down by Rs 10 to Rs 1190.
On Friday rates were unchanged on Friday as the wholesale grain and seed merchants group did not report any change in the rates.
On Jodia Bazaar chemical items closed. The changes were: CHEMICAL ITEMS (Per kg). PETROLEUM JELLY: White Iran was quoted at Rs 45, PVA Japan closed higher by Rs 33 to Rs 253, Sitara caustic soda flakes edged up by Rs 30 to Rs 75 and caustic Taiwan moved upward by Rs 29 to Rs 75. RANGOLITE 'C' (Per pound): China went higher by Rs 10 to Rs 93. HYDROSULPHITE: China 88 percent was quoted at Rs 94 and Germany moved upward by Rs 70 to Rs 143. HYDROGEN PEROXIDE: Descon 50 percent ended lower by Rs 5 to Rs 59 and Sitara ended down by Rs 2 to Rs 61.
On Saturday Karachi wholesale grain and seed markets were closed due to transporters' strike and law and order situation.
