Former Punjab Minister's son and his two accomplices remanded to police for interrogation by the local court here on Sunday. An organised gang of manufacturers of 'fake tea' headed by Ashraf Saeed Qureshi son of a former Punjab Minister Mian Saeed Ahmed Qureshi, a leader of PML-N was busted by the CIA police and seized huge quantity of fake tea worth Rs 2.5 million from the warehouse of a local flour mills.
Police have arrested Ashraf Saeed Qureshi, and his two accomplices Bashir Ahmed and Naveed Ramzan. CIA inspector Rizwan and SI Afzal Qureshi said that this gang was engaged in locally preparing the tea with the help of chemical and cover of gram and labels of reputed tea companies.
Chief food inspector Naeem Changezi said that this fake tea was breeding different diseases like cancer, problems in thyroid. Sources said that a number of organised gangs were engaged in preparing fake detergent powder, fertilisers, seeds, tea, glucose, medicines and pesticides. When contacted Mian Saeed Qureshi, a leader of PML-N said that he had no concern with his son Ashraf Saeed Qureshi because he had excommunicated him five years ago for his ugly activities.
