China recently tested its hypersonic weapon that has its speed 10 times that of sound and is able to hit anything across the globe within an hour.

The country tested its new DF-17 ballistic missile that is armed with hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV) and can fly with 10 times the speed of sound along with striking any target across the globe within an hour.

Anonymous source in the United States government said that recent intelligent reports on The People’s Liberation Army Rocket Force (PLARF) of China carried out two successful tests of HGVs. The weapons are fully equipped with missiles that can mark in between the range of 1800km and 2500km, as per a report from The Diplomat.

Soon planes will travel across countries in less than an hour

The HGV is one of the most powerful and developed technological weapon. As per International Business Times, these DF-17 vehicles would probably be operational by 2020. These weapons could be used for delivering missiles and nuclear weapons to distant targets across the globe along with conventional payload. It can achieve speed up to 7,680 miles per hour (10 times the speed of sound).

The HGVs fly under the normal missile radars and much slower than them when descending, making itself difficult to scan and defend. Apart from China, USA and Russia are also said to be developing a hypersonic glider technology but neither country has conducted test flights.
