Shraddha Kapoor wins the race against Katrina Kaif

Bollywood’s heartthrob Shahid Kapoor is all ready to star in Director Shree Narayan’s new venture ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, however, the lead actress acting opposite him is still in question, with names like Katrina Kaif and Shraddha Kapoor being in the mix.

Recently, reports of Katrina rejecting the role made rounds that were later denied by the actress saying that she will not be starring in the movie as her work dates are clashing. However, Shraddha's name is coming up as Katrina’s replacement in.

According to a recently published report by DNA India, Shraddha is all ready to star in the movie. “The makers recently got in touch with Shraddha. She has been briefed about the role. The producers were looking for an A-list heroine to be cast opposite Shahid, who plays a lawyer in the film. However, it will require some prep. Katrina couldn’t sign the film because she didn’t have the time to do so,” a source revealed.

The story of the movie revolves around a legal drama and Shahid will be playing a man fighting the electricity board and other government systems in order to resolve major corruption issues whereas opposite him will be a female lawyer also playing  his love interest

'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' is slated to release on August 31, 2018.
