The Saleem Shahzad murder probe commission on Tuesday questioned senior officers of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and Intelligence Bureau (IB). Talking to media after meeting of the commission in the Supreme Court Lahore Registry on Tuesday, the Commission's Secretary and Federal Information Secretary Taimour Azmat said that the concerned senior officers of ISI and IB appeared before the commission and answered questions asked by the commission for five hours.
He said that the commission ordered them to file their written replies within ten days. The commission would examine their written replies and form its opinion, he added. When asked whether or not commission was satisfied with the answers submitted by the officers, he said it was too early to say anything in this regard.
To another question, he said officers of brigadier and DIG rank appeared before the commission. The secretary said that a summary had been moved for extending the time period of the commission adding lapsing of time period would not affect the investigations, he said. He said that the next meeting of the commission would be held on September 5.
Justice Mian Saqib Nisar is heading the commission, while the other members of the commission are Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court Agha Rafiq Ahmad, Inspector General of Police Islamabad Binyamin, Inspector General of Police Punjab Javed Iqbal and President PFUJ Pervaiz Shaukat.
