The Karachi Port handled 102,418 tonnes of cargo including 74,867 tonnes of import cargo, 27,551 tonnes of export cargo and 3,449 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 74,867 tonnes comprised of 17,191 tonnes of containerised cargo; 12,467 tonne of general cargo; 209 tonnes of wheat and 45,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 27,551 tonnes comprised of 21,095 tonnes of containerised cargo; 50 tonnes of general cargo; 3,406 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,831 tonnes of cement; 1,575 tonnes of talcum powder and 3,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely Violetta, Vera Bhum, Daffodil and Fair Express with three container ships and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Seven vessels viz Daffodil, Northern Valour, President Adams, YM Asia, MT Karachi, Alpine Alaska and Nizar-M carrying four container ships, two oil tankers and bulk cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths. Two container ships namely Northern Valour and President Adams expected to sail on Wednesday, while two oil tankers namely MT Karachi and Alpine Alaska are expected to sail on Thursday.
Five vessels viz Hyundai General, HS Challenger, Cap Gabriel, Argent Iris and Safina-2 with three container ships, ethanol carrier and flour/rice carrier respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while three vessels viz Gem of Dahej, Green Field-1 and Yang Hai carrying naphtha carrier, DAP ship and coal carrier respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 79,922 tonnes, comprising 55,692 tonnes of import cargo and 24,230 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,256 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 55,692 tonnes includes 24,051 tonnes of diesel oil; 7,600 tonnes of palm oil; 4,474 tonnes of chemicals and 19,567 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 24,230 tonnes includes 992 tonnes of corn; 4,453 tonnes of cement and 18,785 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three ships namely CV Maersk Kolkata, CV Al-Sabahia and MV Hai Yu sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while five more ships namely MV Alexi-I, MV New Sun, MT SC Beihai, MT Gem of Dahej and MT Al-Salam-II are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of ten vessels CV Maersk Kolkata, CV Al-Sabahia, MV Tycoon-II, MV Alexi-I, MV Afamia, MV Hai Yu, MV New Sun, MT SC Beihai, MT Gem of Dahej and MT Al-Salam-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, corn, chemicals, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours. Four ships namely Libra Copacabana, East Med Gas, Pacific Energy and New Challenger carrying containers, chemicals and diesel oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of four vessels viz CV Libra Copacabana, CV CMA CGM Strauss, MT Pacific Energy and MT East Med Gas carrying containers, diesel oil and chemicals are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Wednesday. Four ships namely CV MSC Roberta, CV Nele Maersk, CV Glory and CV CMA CGM Eiffel carrying containers are due to arrive on Thursday at Port Qasim.
