Rates moved both ways on the currency market on Wednesday in process of trading, dealers said. The rupee shed 10 paisa against dollar for buying at 86.68 and dropped by seven paisa for selling at 86.70, they said.
INTERBANK MARKET RATES: In the third Asian trading euro sank under the top of its daily Ichimoku cloud, hurt by lack of progress in talks over a common euro zone bond and weaker-than-expected German GDP, while Swiss franc stayed under pressure on expectations of imminent action to curb its strength.
The European currency fell 0.2 percent after it failed to test a major resistance area at 1.4470-80, but support was found above its Tuesday's intraday low around $1.4355 and its 100-day moving average. The dollar was available for Indian currency at Rs 45.38, the US currency was trading at 2.9825 versus the Malaysian ringgit and the greenback was at 6.3914 in terms of the Chinese yuan.
Interbank buy/sell rates for taka against dollar on Wednesday: 74.55/74.70 (previous 74.62/74.70) Call Money Rates: 11.00-12.00 percent (previous 9.50-12.00 percent).
OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee, however, appreciated by five paisa versus the US currency for buying ant selling at 86.35 and 86.55, they added. The rupee also gained in terms of euro, rising nine paisa for buying and selling at Rs 124.19 and Rs 124.69, they said.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The rupee gained 15 paisa on buying side and 10 paisa on selling side in relation to dollar on Lahore currency market on Wednesday.
According to dealers, the dollar remained under pressure and closed lower at Rs 86.20 and Rs 86.50 against overnight rates Rs 86.35 and Rs 86.60 for buying and selling, respectively.
Similarly, the rupee recovered some losses against pound sterling, which was purchased and sold at Rs 141.50 and Rs 142.20 as compared to Tuesday's Rs 141.00 and Rs 142.80, respectively, dealers said.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee remained firm against dollar at the currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
The dollar resumed trading at Rs 86.00 (buying) and Rs 86.30 (selling) against same last rates. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 86.00 (buying) and Rs 86.30 (selling).
Pound sterling opened at Rs 138.30 (buying) and Rs 138.50 (selling) against same overnight values. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 138.30 (buying) and Rs 138.50 (selling).
