More than 50 villages were inundated when floodwater coming from Badin saline nullahs entered in two tehsils of Thatta on Wednesday. According to reports, floodwater has changed its course towards Thatta district and has breached saline nullahs of two tehsil Jati and Mirpur Bathoro at eight different places, private news channel reported.
Crops of cotton, rice and others standing at thousands of acres were destroyed due to the floodwater. Hundreds of inhabitants of these areas are taking shelter in two government schools at Jati Chowk. It is to be mentioned that gushing out floodwater from saline nullahs of Badin is still continuing due to breaches developed at several places after seven days of the calamity. Thousands of flood affectees have taken refuge in different relief camps set up by district governments.
