Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has said the provincial government besides taking practical steps to eradicate terrorism and militancy is also committed to alleviate poverty. "Bacha Khan Khpal Rozgar Scheme, scholarship programme for intelligent students, technical training and education and issuance of soft loans reflect the determination and commitment of the government in this direction," he said.
The chief minister was talking to a delegation of Malik Saad Shaheed Sports Trust, which called on him at Chief Minister's House on Wednesday. The chief minister also participated in the launching of a documentary film based on performance of the Trust. Senior Provincial Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour, provincial ministers Mian Iftikhar Hussein and Haji Hidayat Ullah, MPA Nighat Orakzai, Chairman Board, former IGP Malik Naveed and large number of Trust's members were also present.
He said that all top 10 position holders in SSC and FSc examinations under entire education boards of the province will be awarded scholarships ranging from Rs 15000 to 20,000 a month under "Stori Da Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Programme". Likewise, he said under Bacha Khan Khpal Rozgar Scheme deserving people were being provided with interest free loans for starting small businesses. Moreover, the chief minister said that 1500 students will be provided training at the best technical institutes of the country and these trained persons would be given loan worth Rs 3, 00,000 on soft terms.
The chief minister while notifying package for police Shuhada said under the package, the compensation to heirs of Shuhada has been increased from Rs 5,00,000 to Rs 3 million while education of their children, payment of salaries till retirement age of police Shuhada and other facilities have also been included in the package.
The chief minister also proposed establishment of women wing of the Trust keeping in view activities of women in sports, education and health sectors. The chief minister presented shields to Malik Tajamul Hayat of ICMS, Syed Ali Nawaz Gillani of BoK, Mohammed Faheem, Shakil ur Rahman and Naveed Ahmad for taking part in preparation of the documentary film.
He also presented rich tributes to Trust Secretary Amjid Aziz Malik and said he has rendered valuable services for promotion and development of sports. He said that a total of 50 academies will be established with support of USAID this year that will cost Rs 7.5 million.
