The Karachi Port handled 127,657 tonnes of cargo including 104,211 tonnes of import cargo, 23,446 tonnes of export cargo and 4,002 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 104,211 tonnes comprised of 18,473 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,460 tonne of general cargo; 773 tonnes of wheat and 83,505 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 23,446 tonnes comprised of 20,528 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,918 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,976 tonnes of cement and 942 tonnes of talcum powder. Four ships namely Northern Valour, President Adams, MOL Success and Pacific Express with three container ships and general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Hyundai General, HS Challenger, Cap Gabriel, Lara Rickmers and MT Lahore carrying four container ships and crude oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths. Two container ships namely HS Challenger and Cap Gabriel expected to sail on Thursday, while five ships namely Hyundai General, YM Asia, OEL Trust, MT Lahore and Alpine Alaska carrying two container ships, LSFO and crude oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
Three vessels Argent Iris, Gem of Dahej and Yang Hai with ethanol ship, naphtha carrier, and coal ship respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while seven vessels viz OEL Trust, Emirates Kanako, APL Sokhana, Kota Azam, Green Field-1, Alliance Norfork and Global Genesis carrying four container ships, DAP ship, vehicles carrier and coal ship respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 62,645 tonnes, comprising 46,941 tonnes of import cargo and 15,704 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,427 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 46,941 tonnes includes 25,820 tonnes of diesel oil; 3,400 tonnes of edible oil; 4,257 tonnes of chemicals and 13,464 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 15,704 tonnes includes 100 tonnes of corn; 4,809 tonnes of cement and 10,795 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three ships namely CV Libra Copacabana, MT Gem of Dahej and MT Al-Salam-II sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while three more ships namely CV CMA CGM Strauss, MV New Sun and MT Izumo are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of seven vessels CV CMA CGM Strauss, CV Libra Copa Cabana, MV Tycoon-II, MV Afamia, MV New Sun, MT Gem of Dahej and MT Al-Salam-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, corn, chemicals and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Eight ships namely East Med Gas, Pacific Energy, New Challenger, Izumo, Nele Maersk, Mahmut Saka, Long Champ and Glory carrying chemicals, diesel oil, iron ore and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of five vessels viz CV Izumo, CV Nele Maersk, MT East Med Gas, MT Mahmut Saka and MV Pacific Energy carrying containers, chemicals, iron ore and diesel oil are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.
